Lucia Padling in Trondheim – Evening Kayak Tour on December 13

Experience the quiet beauty of Trondheim’s Nidelva river during a special Lucia-themed kayaking trip on the evening of December 13. Starting from Nedre Ila, this two-hour guided tour lets you paddle through the calm waters just as darkness sets in.

Each double kayak is fitted with glowing lanterns to reflect the light of Lucia. You'll join others in a peaceful procession through the city’s waterways, adding a warm touch to the cold season. Whether you're new to kayaking or have experience, this event is suitable for most skill levels.

Before setting off, a 20-minute safety and technique briefing will ensure everyone feels confident on the water. All equipment is provided, including wetsuits or drysuits for warmth. This seasonal event offers a memorable way to take part in Norwegian tradition from a unique perspective.

Participants must carry their kayaks (approx. 50 meters) before and after the tour.
Minimum age is 16. Please arrive 10 minutes early. Wear a wetsuit or drysuit, light shoes, and dress according to the weather. No return transport is provided from the endpoint. Bring water, sunglasses, and a hat if the weather is sunny.Meeting point: Nedre Ila 6B, Trondheim.
