Introduction Course to Sea Kayaking in Trondheim

This 3-hour introduction to sea kayaking is ideal for those who are new to the sport and curious about learning the basics. The course starts with a short briefing and equipment orientation at Strandvegen 104, where participants are fitted with appropriate gear including a dry suit, life vest, and paddle.

Once on the water, you’ll be guided through essential paddling strokes, basic navigation techniques, and how to control your kayak efficiently. You’ll also learn important rescue procedures and safety practices that are vital for future kayaking adventures.

The small-group format ensures personal attention and a steady pace suited to beginners. No previous experience is required, but all participants must be able to swim. Equipment is provided and the course takes place in calm waters, making it a practical starting point for anyone interested in sea kayaking.

Please arrive 15 minutes before the start of the course. The meeting point is at Strandvegen 104, near the kayak rental station and Havet Arena sauna.
Participants must be at least 16 years old and able to swim 50 meters. The course requires a minimum of three participants to run. If the minimum is not met, you'll be contacted for rescheduling or a full refund.

Dress warmly in wool layers under the dry suit and bring waterproof bags for your belongings. A towel, change of clothes, sun protection, snacks, and drinks are also recommended. All kayaking gear can be borrowed at no extra cost.
